I discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in 2000 as an alternative treatment for a lower back injury that was not responding to pain medication. After three weeks of regular practice, the pain completely disappeared and my appreciation for yoga was born.  Since then, I have continued to grow in this style of yoga, explored a few others, and tried to expose the many communities I inhabit to yoga as a means to achieve health, awareness and a sense of peace. I have many teachers to thank for their love and guidance: Indu Bala Bhardwaj, Anne Nowell, Matthew Sweeney, Mark Whitwell, Terri Smith, Trevor Monk, and Dana Rae Paré.
