Skyler Myers, RYT : Skyler has been practicing yoga for 14 years and teaching for 4. Skyler is a Certified Yoga Teacher through the Shiva Center for Yoga & Ayurveda and Registered with YogaAlliance. Her training is in Yoga Asana founded in Ayurvedic principles, Meditation, Pranayama (breathing techniques), Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy & Physiology, Ayurveda, Yogic cleansing techniques, Sanskrit, Mantras & Chanting. She also recently graduated from Mueller College of Holistic Studies. Skyler taught at the Shiva Center & then later at the Chopra Center & La Costa Resort before having the good fortune to open this studio. Skyler's teaching focuses on the integration of body and mind through the breath. Skyler teaches several classes: a spinal opening bliss class and a more vigorous hatha. She commonly teaches pranayama and references classics like the Hatha Yoga Pradtipika, and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, integrates some ancient Taoist, Tantric, and Tibetan practices. All of Skyler's classes are complete with music, sage cleansing or aromatherapy, and sometimes a sung mantra during savasana.  

 

 

 

 

 

Anne Nowell Anne Nowell is a triple certified instructor &has taught various styles of yoga in the US and abroad for more than 20 years, and is a Kriyaban in the tradition of Paramahansa Yogananda. She is also a certified personal trainer, dedicated to the principles of fitness and yoga philosophy. Anne has studied directly with K. Pattabhi Jois, TKV Desikachar, and BKS Iyengar as well as numerous senior American and European teachers. Her classes blend the techniques of the Krishnamacharya lineage to make the Astanga Yoga method available to all interested students.  
Tori Piceno: Tori has been practicing yoga for twenty years. She had the good fortune to be injured training as a dancer in New York City and so began her lifelong practice in yoga. Studying with Yogiraj Behramji and several other instructors on the east coast, she was comfortable taking her practice to a professional level; instructor. This led her to become certified by Tim Miller in Ashtanga Yoga right here in beautiful Encinitas, CA. Combining the wisdom of her many mentors, training in Iyengar, Anasura, Hatha, Bliss, Kids Yoga and Prenatal, she has developed her own style and uniquely blends yoga choreography to suit her patronage  at that moment. Therefore she teaches what is needed to be taught in the present - anyone, any age, any restriction or limitation of movement.  

 

 

Nikyta Palmisani:   Nikyta has been teaching yoga since 2000, and was first trained in Indra Devi Hatha and first taught at Camelrock Yoga Center. She then did a year long apprenticeship with Chris Allen in Ashtanga Yoga at Ashtanga Yoga East Studio. She still had a feeling that there was more to learn about sadhana and karma yoga, so she went to live at the Mount Madonna Center and studied with Baba Hari Das in their Yoga Service and Community Program in 2001. After returning, she began teaching all levels of yoga at the Golden Door where she continues to teach today. Although Astanga was her first love, Nikyta has been deeply influenced by Iyengar yoga with Roger Cole, and did a teacher training with him in Restorative Yoga. She currently studies with Geri Portnoy in Anusara Yoga at Yoga Del Mar where she also teaches. Nikyta is also an Expressive Arts Therapist and Coordinator at San Diego Youth and Community Services where she works with at risk youth. Her love of the arts infuses her yoga teaching with poetry, and she often teaches with live music. Nikyta's one prayer is to be a channel for the divine in all that she does, combining humility with wisdom and creativity to hold a space for students to come to their own highest selves.    
Laura Rogan:   Laura explores movement through Yoga and dance as a method for connecting with the Divine. Her training in Tribal Fusion Middle Eastern and Indian dance for the last 9 years and certification in yoga in 2006 allows her to combine her Yoga and dance training to create a flow of movement used to awaken body and mind.  

Joshua Graner: Joshua Graner is a Teacher of Taoist Yoga, a system that focuses on reducing blockages in the body and mind. Joshua's incorporates Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Chinese Medicine, Human Physiology and Biochemistry into his teachings. Joshua teaches it in a way that is accessible to anyone. He has a unique gift for making things simple while also paying attention to and teaching fine detail. Joshua spent ten years in all as a medic, medical instructor and fitness trainer for the Army, after which he spent six years studying nutrition, human physiology and biochemistry at the University of Nevada Reno.

For the past few years Joshua has been studying Chinese medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental medicine in pursuit of his Masters degree and eventually his doctorate. He now practices a form of healthcare called the Three Jewels of Health. This is a method of medicine and health education that helps people understand his or her body through a very simple three-faceted paradigm namely respiration, digestion and movement. He uses Taoist yoga along with Asian bodywork, nutritional counseling, herbs and meditation to help his clients better know their body and mind and how to activate the self-healing mechanisms of the body. Paisley Close: Paisley Close has been practicing yoga since 1996. She began her professional teaching career as a pilates instructor in 1997, then started teaching yoga in 2001. Originally trained in the Iyengar method, Paisley is now devoted to Anusara yoga. Anusara’s heart-oriented philosophy coupled with its Universal Principals of Alignment™ suit Paisley’s articulate teaching style and playful, devoted nature. What is especially dear to her about yoga is that it shows each of us how to open to our own uniqueness and inner strength. This inner strength makes for happier, healthier people and Paisley loves that the process creates, not only stronger, healthier individuals, but also a stronger community.

 

Adesh Kaur : Adesh Kaur has been teaching Kundalini yoga for over 6 years. Kundalini yoga is a form of kriya yoga taught as a sequence of postures done in a specific order with mantra, pranyam, and a meditation at the end. Each Kriya works on strengthening or adjusting something specific. There are sets for the heart, kidneys, lungs, magnetic field, glandular system,subconsious clearing, etc. Adesh also draws on her extensive background as a healer to touch on the deeper metaphysical and physical relationship between all things bringing wisdom and understanding to the kriyas she teaches. She has been teaching Reiki for 12 years and practices Flower Essence Therapy, Crystal Therapy, Sat Nam Rasyan Kundalini branch of Yogic Healing), and is a biometaphysical practitioner (Harmonyum). Her studies were done at Kundalini Yoga East in New York City. She is a very motivational teacher and emphasises discipline and commitment in her classes. People find her classes to be informative challenging and uplifting.

 

Tina Rathbone : Tina embarked on a hatha yoga path in 1987, as a way to overcome the stresses of graduate school. But it was the discovery of Ashtanga yoga a few years ago that illuminated for her the transformative power of yoga: physically, mentally and spiritually. From that day, Tina dedicated her practice to the hope that she could bring the gift of yoga to others. Tina brings a sense of joy and fun to her classes, tempering her exuberance with a deep reverence for the mystery and power of the human body to heal and transform over time. Tina has completed 300 hours of teacher training with Tim Miller. She continues to study with Tim, Matias Flury, Dana Rae Paré, and many of the other excellent teachers in the San Diego area.

 

Lakshmi Grace : LakshmiGrace teaches from a foundation of 11 years experience in Svaroopa Yoga. Her path of self discovery has been formed by Reiki, SYDA Yoga and Meditation and Toltec Shamanism in the tradition of don Miguel Ruiz, the author of the Four Agreements. These powerful paths of over 11 years have joined together to create a balanced presence of ruthless compassion in her. Her classes are very personalized with hands-on adjustments, guided awareness, and yogic breath. LakshmiGrace is a compassionate and effective guide led by her great love for this yoga and The Self.

 

Christopher Marciello : Christopher has been practicing yoga and meditation for the past decade. It began with spontaneous asana and then became a Hatha practice with his first teacher Gunasilan, a devotee of ammachi. He began his professional tutelage under Jolie Cash of Nature’s Whisper School of Yoga. Christopher is currently doing a two year Vipassana meditation teacher training under Noah Levine,Buddhist teacher,lecturer and author, who is a student of Jack Kornfield, founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center and the Insight Meditation Society, as well as the author of numerous books and articles on Buddhist meditation. Christopher defines himself as a father, loves to surf, eats seaweed ricecakes and genuinely believes in the transformative abilities of a steady meditation practice.

 

Arati Lane: Arati was introduced to Hatha Yoga in NYC when her teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life opened their JIVAMUKTI Yoga Center in the late 80's. Deeply inspired by their intensity and knowledge beyond the physical aspects of yoga, she traveled for years in India studying different methods and styles of yoga and has been teaching internationally ever since. Her classes vary in pace/style and are open to all levels.

 

Kim Kolibri : Kim is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2001. Kim studies and apprentices weekly with local senior teachers Eddy Marks and Mary Obendorfer. She has also studied directly with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar at RIMYI, Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, in Pune, India, and with Geeta and BKS Iyengar in the US. Kim's passion for teaching and practicing yoga is fed by a purposeful intent to assist individuals and community in the quest of health, wholeness, and truth. Her teaching style in guided by the teaching principles of Iyengar Yoga and Vedic Philosophy. While serious about yoga, Kim is also playful and light-hearted and her classes are open to students of all levels

 

Haunani Chong : Haunani, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, is here to hug the World by Being the Change. She danced the ancient Hawaiian Hula since the age of four and studied natural forms of healing her whole life. She was certified in the Deep Yoga Mastery of Life Teacher Training through Bhava & Sundari Ram of San Diego and Radiant Child Yoga Teacher instructed by Shakta Kaur. She is currently studying Ayurveda with David Frawley. She loves to guide, share, and inspire kids and adults to discover, feel, and honor the Divine Love & Light within. She integrates connection with Mother Earth and Sacred Spirit into every class. Besides guiding people through personal healing and transformation with Yoga & Ayurveda, she also shares her loving light through the ancient Hawaiian massage and breathwork of Lomi Lomi and Ha. She loves to laugh until sheʼs crying and cry until sheʼs laughing, cook with organic garden-fresh produce, read, travel, and be out innature.
